Happy Birthday Aunt Gayle
A new addition
Lincoln Wilson arrived today, all 7 pounds, 11 1/2 oz. of him. He is perfectly normal. There have been so many prayers for both him and his mother the last 9 months. God is wonderful. I can't wait to get to Portland next week and hold him.
I can't believe I have 6 grandchildren. How blessed I am.

cankles revisited
Well, cankles made the national and local news last night. Wonder if they knew about me. Well, turns out you can have them lipo-suctioned to remove them. Hmmm, wonder if someone who doesn't wear makeup or pluck her eyebrows would be interested in lipo-suction. NOT!

New Worries
Well, it's bad enough that I have to worry about my Andy Rooney zebra stripped eyebrows.

Today, I heard on the news that now I have "cankles"! Sounds terminal, doesn't it.
All my life I have wanted thin ankles, but no dice. So today I find out that I have "cankles". Who knew they would come up with a term to describe my ankles.
At least I am not alone in the world. Turns out John Madden coined the term describing a football player's legs.

Well, I succombed to all the hype and joined Facebook. I have discovered an old friend from high school and college, a friend from the Navy and numerous nieces and nephews. But I am still trying to figure out what to do with all the information and how to use it.
One friend has asked me to be a "my girl" and to play "farm ville" What's that all about anyway?
Revisiting those eyebrows

Andy Rooney talked about his eyebrows several weeks ago on 60 minutes. He had gotten an e-mail from a viewer who asked him why he didn't groom them. His comment was that he liked them just like they are!
Now eyebrow threading is at every mall I have been to lately (which is a total of two). But I am still going to resist the temptation. My eyebrows are now zebra stripped (you know - grey and white or salt and pepper) and I like them just the way they are. Thank you Andy.

Doesn't this look painful?

Locked out!
I managed to lock myself out today. Blame the ants, not my CMS syndrome (can't remember shit). Octavio was here and we were checking out the tree trimming job. Earlier the pest control man was here and I had taken my hidden keys inside so he wouldn't see where they were because they were on top of an ant hill. (some hiding place)
Long story short - all my fail safe locks worked including the garage door lock. Bummer dude.
Well, remember the cat screen!
I had to remove it and tear out the screening to open the door. And I always have keys in my pocket. Seems to me this is what happened the last time I locked the outside keys inside the house. Ah, growing old. It ain't pretty.

Monsoons
Now when I moved to AZ 9 years ago, I first heard about the monsoons. I heard what horrible storms they were and how you had to be prepared for them. I must confess I just thought that they were big thunderstorms like in New Mexico. But evidently not, because after 9 years people run programs on the weather channel about all the damage they can (and do) cause.

So, this year I decided to get prepared and trim the trees as I don't need any tree limbs falling on my roof or on my car. These are pictures of before. Notice the saw: wonder who got that stuck there? Must have been my neighbor who trimmed his side of the tree (on his property of course) but not mine.

Well, here is the after:

I threw in a picture of my sunflowers 'cuz they are so pretty.

Be still my heart
It is well known in my family that I have a "thing" for Tom Selleck. I have always been sorry that he met Jilly Mack and married her instead of me. As my mom used to say - he can park his shoes under my bed anytime.

Well, he was on TV last night in a movie and I couldn't wait. I set the VCR in case I fell asleep and I was good to go.
Now you have to understand, in my family I am the computer nerd. I switch out memory, change hard drives, reprogram Windows without a second thought. I have all the latest gadgets.
But, do you think I can program a VCR - nooooooooo!. So bottom line, I didn't get the tape of Tom. And to add insult to injury, when the VCR started recording whatever it was recording, it switched off the channel. Couldn't fix it, no big deal thinks I. I will have the recording. So when I went to watch the tape of Tom it recorded nothing for 2 hours. So I missed Tom completely. Sorry Tom.
